This guide is information, not legal or immigration advice. Rules change, so confirm on the official government site before you travel.
Two common worries: a mistake after submitting, and not filing at all. The Cambodian official FAQs answer both, and they are clearer than most blogs.
Short answer
The official e-Arrival FAQ on the Ministry of Tourism site says you can edit your information and resubmit as long as you have not been processed by Immigration Officers. A Cambodian embassy FAQ says the same, with the test being whether your QR code has been scanned at the airport. After that, no more changes.
The card is free, on the official site arrival.gov.kh or the mobile app, and is filed within 7 days before arrival. Visa holders still have to file it.
How to edit
- Open arrival.gov.kh or the official app.
- Find your submission and edit the wrong field.
- Resubmit and save the new QR code.
Take a screenshot or download the QR code before you close the page. A guide says the app keeps the code available offline.
If you forgot to file
One travel-news source reports that people who missed the online step can use tablets at Siem Reap and Phnom Penh airports. That is from 2024 reporting, so ask your airline whether the tablets are still offered. Do not plan on it.
Another guide says the e-Arrival Card applies only to air arrivals and that river crossings use a paper form. Treat that as reported until you see a government page.
Common mistakes
- Filing more than 7 days early.
- A passport number that differs from the passport you carry.
- Assuming a visa replaces the card. The FAQ says all travellers file it.
- Paying a site that is not arrival.gov.kh.
For Pakistani passport holders
The visa step comes first. See our Cambodia page for the e-visa question and where sources conflict.
