General information only

This guide is information, not legal or immigration advice. Rules change, so confirm on the official government site before you travel.

You filed the Korea e-Arrival Card and then spotted a wrong passport detail or a changed hotel. The fix is free. This page covers editing, resubmitting, and how the 72-hour validity changes the plan.

Short answer

Yes, you can fix it. A news summary of the Korean system says you can edit your declaration on the website before passing entry control, and an email is sent after submission. Travel guides describe two routes: look up the old card and choose Edit, or submit a new card and use the most recently issued QR code.

It is free either way. Official-looking sites that charge a fee to “correct” the card are not the government’s.

How to edit

  1. Open the official site, e-arrivalcard.go.kr, by typing it yourself.
  2. Choose the status checker or the option to view or update a submitted form.
  3. Retrieve your card with the email address or the e-Arrival Card issuance number, as one guide describes.
  4. Choose Edit, fix the field, and review the whole form.
  5. Submit and keep the newest confirmation. A printed copy is not required for entry, according to reports.

When a fresh submission is better

  • The card expired. Guides say it is valid for 72 hours from submission, and if you do not enter Korea in that time you need a new one. Resubmission is free.
  • Your flight date moved. The 3-day rule counts from the new arrival date.
  • The editor will not take a change. Submit a new card and use the newest QR code.

What to check on the form

  • Passport number, name and date of birth match the passport.
  • The passport image includes the machine-readable zone. If scanned fields are wrong, correct them by hand, as one guide notes.
  • The first address in Korea is real. One guide says the first address is enough even if you will stay in several places.

Timing reminder

The card can be filed within 3 days before arrival, by Korea Standard Time. See our South Korea page for the exemptions, including K-ETA holders.
