You filled in the Malaysia Digital Arrival Card days ago and now doubt it will count, or the form refuses to submit. Most MDAC problems come from timing and from a few small form errors. Here is how to sort them out without paying anyone.
How the MDAC window works
The MDAC must be submitted within 3 days before arrival in Malaysia. A visa-guide example counts both the submission day and the travel day inside those 3 days: if you arrive on 3 October, you submit on 1, 2 or 3 October. Immigration's own announcements use the same 3-day wording.
If you land early in the morning or have a long flight, your real window is shorter than it looks, so do not leave it for the last hour. Use the date calculator to see your first allowed day.
I submitted too early
Travel guides say a card submitted before the 3-day window is not valid for your trip and should be submitted again closer to your arrival date. If you are unsure, do not guess: file a fresh card inside the window and keep that confirmation. It is free, so there is no cost to doing it twice.
Your PIN and checking the pass
When you register, the system creates a PIN. News reports on the launch explain that the PIN lets you look up your visit pass on the MDAC site afterwards. Save the PIN and the confirmation on your phone. A digital or printed copy is what you show on arrival together with your passport.
Common form errors
- "Address field invalid". Reported fix: clear the browser cache or try another browser or device.
- Passport details do not match. Copy name, number and nationality exactly as printed in the passport.
- Wrong site. The official portal is on the imigresen-online.imi.gov.my domain. Look-alike sites that charge are not official.
- Thinking MDAC is a visa. It is not. If your passport needs a visa, that is separate.
